Game Overview

Stardate 2140.2: Battles On Distant Planets was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a budget release that compiled older titles for a new audience. It originally came out during the early 1990s, a time when many space combat sims vied for attention on the platform. The game doesn't have a widely remembered developer or publisher attached, fitting more into the category of shareware or low-budget productions of its era.

You control a lone starfighter tasked with clearing hostile forces from a series of planetary systems. The primary objective is to survive wave after wave of enemy ships and installations across distinct, screen-by-screen combat zones. Signature mechanics include managing your ship's limited energy reserves, which power both weapons and shields, and navigating tight corridors filled with enemy fire and environmental obstacles. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, often demanding precise movements and quick reflexes. It feels like a tense, isolated struggle against overwhelming odds where every shot and every dodge matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
