Game Overview

Magic Johnson's Basketball on the Amiga is one of those early sports games that somehow nails the feel of fast-paced hoops despite the hardware limitations. You get a top-down view of the court, and the controls are simple—pass, shoot, steal—but the AI actually puts up a decent fight. The pixelated players move with a surprising fluidity, and there's something satisfying about nailing a three-pointer from the corner.

It’s not the deepest basketball sim out there, but for a quick pickup game, it holds up better than you’d expect. The crowd animations are hilariously basic, just a few rows of blocky spectators, but they cheer when you score, which adds to the charm. If you’ve got an Amiga emulator or the original hardware, it’s worth a few plays just for the nostalgia.
