Magicboy came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Blue Byte. It was one of those early platformers that felt right at home on a DOS machine, with colorful, blocky graphics and a simple premise that didn't try to overcomplicate things. You controlled a young wizard, and the goal was straightforward: explore a series of interconnected screens, defeat enemies, and find your way through.

You guide the wizard through side scrolling levels, using a basic wand attack to take out creatures like bouncing slimes or flying pests. The main objective is to reach the exit in each stage, often by solving simple environmental puzzles, like hitting switches or avoiding traps. The game is known for its methodical, screen by screen progression and its occasionally unforgiving platforming, where mistiming a jump means starting the section over. It moves at a deliberate pace, demanding patience more than reflexes, and playing it feels like carefully working through a whimsical but stubborn obstacle course.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
