Game Overview
Magicboy is one of those weirdly charming DOS platformers where you play as Hewlett, a kid wizard who screwed up big time—he unleashed a bunch of monsters and turned his teacher into an elephant. Oops. Now you’re hopping through these bizarre levels (like a trash-filled dump or a futuristic city) trying to fix everything with your magic wand. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you do, it’s oddly satisfying bouncing on enemies and collecting spellbooks.
Some of the level themes feel totally random—one minute you’re underwater dodging jellyfish, the next you’re in some neon future zone. The music’s got that classic early ‘90s synth vibe, too. It’s janky in places, but there’s something endearing about how ambitious it is for a game where your main attack is basically throwing little stars at sentient trash bags. If you’re into retro platformers with personality, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
