Game Overview

Mahoujin Guruguru 2 is one of those SNES RPGs that feels like it was made by people who couldn’t stop laughing while designing it. You pick either the kid hero or heroine, team up with a weird little spinning-top wizard, and then just… stumble into the most ridiculous fantasy world ever. Walking onions attack you. Magic spells backfire in ways that somehow still help. The dialogue’s full of dumb jokes that somehow work.

Battles are turn-based but quick—no endless menus—and the magic system’s chaotic in the best way. Half the fun is seeing what nonsense happens when you mix spells. The first game was already charming, but this one smooths out the rough edges and cranks up the absurdity. If you’ve played EarthBound or Mario & Luigi and wished they were even sillier, this is your fix. Also, the pixel art’s got that warm, chunky SNES glow—like playing a cartoon from 1995.

It’s short, sweet, and doesn’t waste your time with grinding. Just pure, unapologetic goofiness.
