Marksman Shooting & Trap Shooting came out for the Sega Master System in 1986, developed and published by Sega. It was one of the early light gun games for the system, designed specifically to take advantage of the Light Phaser peripheral. You control a targeting reticle on screen, using the Light Phaser to aim and shoot. In Marksman Shooting, the goal is to hit red targets that pop up across various static scenes before they vanish. Trap Shooting tasks you with breaking clay pigeons launched into the air at different angles and speeds. The game relies heavily on quick reflexes and precise aim, with targets appearing and moving at a brisk pace that keeps you alert. Missing too many shots ends the round, so consistency is key. It feels immediate and physical, a direct test of hand-eye coordination against the screen.
