Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet came out for the Nintendo DS in 2010, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of kid-friendly comic book games that felt right at home on the handheld, offering a bright, cartoony take on the Marvel universe that was a nice break from the more serious console titles of the time.
You control a team of two heroes from a large roster, switching between them to fight through screen after screen of enemies. The main goal is to stop Thanos from collecting the Infinity Gems, which involves a lot of simple beat-em-up combat, solving environmental puzzles by using each character's unique abilities, and collecting currency to upgrade your squad's moves. The pacing is brisk, the difficulty is forgiving, and it feels like a Saturday morning cartoon you get to play, full of lighthearted action and constant banter between the heroes.
