At first, the customization feels overwhelming—legs, arms, heads, all with different stats and abilities—but after a few battles, you get weirdly attached to your mismatched squad. The fights are grid-based, almost like Fire Emblem, but with way more room to experiment. Want a tanky bot that absorbs hits while your sniper picks off enemies? Go for it. Prefer a glass cannon that explodes half the battlefield? Also an option.

The story’s goofy but has this oddly serious conspiracy lurking underneath, which keeps things interesting. If you’ve ever wished Pokémon had more tactical depth or Front Mission had more charm, this is the game you didn’t know you needed.
