Play Medarot 5 - Susutake Mura no Tenkousei - Kuwagata Version (Japan) Online

You're the new kid in a village where schoolyard brawls mean beetle-bot battles—tweak your stag beetle's loadout and legs to outmaneuver sniper builds and spinning blade attacks. The teachers yell at you for fighting robots instead of doing homework, which feels about right.

Game Overview

Medarot 5's Kuwagata Version is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games that somehow sticks with you. You're the new kid in Susutake Village, which sounds quaint until you realize half the school fights with customizable beetle robots. The stag beetle models here hit harder than the Kabuto Version's crew—my favorite was this clunky heavy hitter that fired off spinning blade attacks.

Battles play out like a stripped-down tactical RPG where positioning matters just as much as your Medarot's loadout. At first I just mashed attacks, but after getting wrecked by some kid's sniper build, I spent way too long tweaking my bot's legs for better movement. The dialogue's full of that awkward school-life humor where teachers scold you for robot fights instead of homework.

It's definitely a niche pick, but there's something charming about the chunky pixel art and seeing your customized beetle bot pull off a critical hit. Just don't expect it to hold your hand—half the fun is figuring out which weird part combinations actually work.
