Mega Man - Wily's Conquest (Mega Man Hack) is a fan-made NES romhack that remixes the classic formula—same controls, same jump-and-shoot, but with completely reworked stages. The first level already throws you into tighter corridors and trickier enemy placements than the original.

Some of the new boss fights are brutal, especially if you're used to the patterns from the official games. I remember one where the arena kept shifting under my feet mid-fight, forcing me to relearn the rhythm. The weapon balancing feels off in places, but there's a weird charm to figuring out how to cheese through sections with the wrong tools.

If you've played the originals to death, Wily's Conquest at least makes you approach familiar mechanics differently. Just don't expect polish—it's very much a hack, quirks and all.
