Mega Man X2 came out on the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed and published by Capcom. You play as X, an advanced reploid with a conscience, trying to stop a new group of Mavericks from causing chaos.

You control X through a series of nonlinear stages, using his arm cannon to blast through enemies and platforming challenges. The main goal is to defeat eight Maverick bosses, each in their own themed level, to gain their special weapons. Key mechanics include dashing and wall jumping for navigation, plus hunting down hidden upgrades like heart tanks and armor parts to increase your survivability. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is substantial, especially during boss fights and some of the trickier jumps. It feels responsive and demanding, pushing you to learn patterns and master your movement.
