Game Overview

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker picks up after Snake Eater, with Big Boss (still going by Snake) trying to distance himself from everything—until a mysterious tape recording drags him back into the fight. This time, he’s in Costa Rica, where a rogue military force is causing chaos, and since the country doesn’t have an army, guess who gets called in? The story’s got that classic MGS mix of conspiracy, guilt, and weirdly personal stakes—like Snake obsessing over whether The Boss is somehow still alive.

Gameplay’s a mix of stealth and tactical shooting, but you can go loud if you want—though sneaking usually works better. The controls take some getting used to on PSP, but switching between button layouts helps. The comic-style cutscenes look great, and some even let you tap buttons to interact, which keeps things from feeling too static.

Early on, you get your own Mother Base to manage—recruiting soldiers, assigning them to R&D or medical, and unlocking better gear. It’s weirdly addictive, like a military-themed tamagotchi. And yeah, you can replay missions to grind for resources or better ranks, but the real fun is in co-op. Teaming up with friends to take down mechs (or, randomly, Monster Hunter creatures) is chaotic in the best way.

It’s not the biggest MGS game, but it’s one of the most replayable—especially if you’ve got a buddy with a PSP nearby.
