Play Metal Slug 7 Online
Pick a soldier, grab a machine gun, and dive into absolute mayhem—dodging bullets, rescuing POWs (oops, sometimes blowing them up), and watching tanks explode in ridiculous ways. The DS screens split the chaos perfectly: carnage up top, a handy mini-map below.

Metal Slug 7 came out for the Nintendo DS in 2008, developed by SNK Playmore. It arrived during a time when the handheld was full of inventive titles, and this one stuck to its roots as a straightforward, action-heavy side-scroller. You pick from a roster of familiar soldiers like Marco and Eri, then jump into missions packed with enemy infantry, aliens, and oversized bosses.
You control your character through screen by screen combat, shooting everything in sight while dodging a storm of enemy fire. The main objective is to survive each stage, rescue prisoners of war for extra weapons and points, and occasionally commandeer vehicles like the Slug tank or aircraft. Signature mechanics include swapping between a primary weapon and heavy explosives, managing limited ammo for special guns, and using the DS's lower screen as a persistent map and item display. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can spike without warning, especially during boss fights. It feels chaotic and demanding, but landing a well-timed rocket into a crowd of enemies is deeply satisfying.
