Play Metroid Prime Hunters (J) Online
Explore alien worlds, scan for artifacts, solve puzzles, and battle rival bounty hunters in Metroid Prime Hunters on your Nintendo DS.
Metroid Prime Hunters came out on the Nintendo DS in 2006, developed by Nintendo Software Technology. It was one of the earlier first-person shooters on the system, trying to capture the feel of the console Metroid Prime games on a handheld. The hardware limitations were obvious, but it was an ambitious project for its time.
You control Samus Aran, exploring planets and ancient structures to find powerful artifacts before six rival bounty hunters do. The game uses the touch screen for precise aiming and switching between four different beam weapons and visor modes. You spend a lot of time scanning environments for clues, solving simple puzzles, and engaging in fast combat against aliens and the other hunters. The pacing is uneven, with some tedious backtracking, but the boss fights and multiplayer matches are intense. It feels like a rough but earnest attempt to translate a big adventure into your hands.
