Play Metroid Prime Hunters (J) Online
You scan eerie alien ruins between frantic firefights, then switch to multiplayer for tense sniper standoffs—each hunter’s got their own weird weapon that changes how you move. That touchscreen aiming still feels slick years later.

Game Overview
Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS still holds up as one of the best handheld FPS experiences—somehow they made twin-stick controls work with the touchscreen before that was even a standard thing. You start off scanning alien ruins and blasting weird creatures, but pretty soon you're getting into these tense 1v1 sniper duels in multiplayer. The single-player campaign has that classic Metroid vibe of backtracking with new upgrades, though I’ll admit the bounty hunter boss fights are the real highlight.
Also, playing as different hunters with totally unique weapons (like Noxus’ ice beam or Weavel’s energy scythe) keeps the multiplayer surprisingly fresh even now. Just don’t expect a full Metroid Prime console experience—this is more like a scrappy, faster-paced spin-off that somehow works way better than it should on the DS.
