Play Mickey Mouse (Japan) Online

You bounce through bright, blocky levels as Mickey, hopping on weirdly squishy enemies and sliding puzzle blocks into place—feels like playing a Saturday morning cartoon. That floaty jump takes some getting used to, but once it clicks, you’ll be grinning at how he stumbles when you brake too hard.

Game Overview

Mickey Mouse on the NES is one of those weird little platformers that somehow nails the cartoon vibe despite the chunky 8-bit graphics. You’re basically bouncing around colorful levels, hopping on enemies (which feels wrong for Mickey, but hey), and solving these simple but satisfying block puzzles. The controls are floaty in that old-school way—takes a minute to get used to, but once you do, it’s oddly relaxing.

What surprised me was how much personality they squeezed into this thing. Mickey’s sprite actually looks like him, and the music has that bouncy Disney charm. It’s not brutally hard like some NES games, but there’s just enough challenge to keep you from breezing through in one sitting. Found myself grinning at little details, like how Mickey stumbles if you stop too fast.

Definitely more fun than it has any right to be for a licensed game from 1987. If you dig retro platformers with a lighthearted vibe, this one’s worth dusting off.
