Mole Mania came out on the Game Boy in 1996, developed by Nintendo. You control Muddy, digging tunnels through the dirt to navigate each screen. The main objective is to push a large black ball into a hole to clear the path to the exit, all while avoiding enemies like chickens and the farmer himself. The puzzles involve careful planning, as you can only push objects, not pull them, and you often have to dig under obstacles to get the right angle. The pacing is deliberate, making you think through each move, and the difficulty ramps up steadily without becoming unfair. It feels satisfying to finally line up that perfect shot and watch the ball drop into place.
