I picked up Monopoly for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002, published by Destination Software, Inc. It was one of those portable board game adaptations that felt right at home on the GBA, a system that saw plenty of digital versions of classic tabletop games. This one let you carry the whole property-trading experience in your pocket, which was pretty neat at the time.

You control a token, moving around the board by rolling virtual dice, buying up properties, and building houses or hotels when you can afford them. The main goal is straightforward: bankrupt the other players by charging rent and making smart trades. Signature mechanics include auctioning off properties no one wants to buy, drawing Chance and Community Chest cards that can help or hurt you, and managing your cash carefully to avoid going broke. The pacing can drag a bit against AI opponents, but it’s a faithful translation that captures the slow burn of the original game. It feels satisfying to finally complete a color set and watch the rent roll in.
