Play Monsoon Online
Dodging bullets in pixelated monsoons, your soldier weaves through explosions as synth beats amp up the chaos—tough but fair, like an old arcade cabinet that won’t let you walk away.

Monsoon was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it never got a numbered release in that series. It was developed by a small team and published by a now obscure label, typical of the shareware scene in the early 90s. The game fits right in with the era's top-down action titles, where simple graphics and tight controls were the main draw.
You control a lone soldier navigating through dense jungles and enemy compounds, clearing each screen of foes before moving to the next. The main objective is to survive wave after wave of enemy soldiers while advancing through the levels. Signature mechanics include dodging enemy fire in real time, using limited ammunition wisely, and managing health pickups scattered sparingly around the maps. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, with enemies swarming from all sides if you hesitate. It feels tense and demanding, like every move could be your last.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
