Play Monster Bash 2 Online

You play as Johnny, slingshotting through spooky levels to free pets—bouncing off couches, dodging monsters, and barely controlling that janky broomstick flight. The dragon boss still gives me nightmares.

Game Overview

Monster Bash 2 was released as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it never saw a standalone commercial release. Developed by Apogee Software, it arrived during the early '90s shareware era, a time when platformers with colorful, cartoonish graphics were common. It served as a direct follow-up to the original Monster Bash, continuing the lighthearted horror theme that appealed to younger players and fans of the first game.

You control Johnny Dash, a boy armed with a slingshot, tasked with rescuing pets from monsters across several themed levels. The gameplay involves moving screen by screen, shooting enemies like vampires and mummies, and navigating environmental hazards. Signature mechanics include bouncing on couches and beds to reach higher platforms, riding a broomstick in sections that demand careful steering, and avoiding enemy projectiles with precise jumps. The pacing is brisk, with some levels posing a steep challenge due to awkward flight controls or relentless enemy patterns. It feels like a chaotic, sometimes unpredictable dash through a haunted house, where quick reflexes matter more than careful planning.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
