Play Mortal Kombat Advance (GBANow) Online
Battle it out with iconic characters, unleash combos, and perform brutal finishing moves in this portable fighter on the go.
Mortal Kombat Advance came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Virtucraft and published by Midway. It was one of the earlier attempts to bring the series to a handheld, arriving when the GBA library was still growing. You got a pocket sized version of the fighting everyone knew from the arcades and consoles.
You pick a fighter like Scorpion or Sub Zero and face opponents one on one across a series of matches. The main goal is to win each fight by depleting the opponent's health bar, either through basic attacks, special moves, or by knocking them into stage hazards. Signature mechanics include performing fatalities by inputting specific button sequences after winning a round, and a combo system that lets you chain attacks together if timed right. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike sharply against later opponents. It feels like a condensed, sometimes janky, but earnest effort to carry the violence and style of Mortal Kombat in your pocket.
