Play Mortal Kombat Advance Online
Throwing pixelated fireballs on the GBA somehow feels just as satisfying as the arcade—even if the blood looks like someone smeared strawberry jam on the screen. Nailing those clunky combos while crammed on the school bus never got old.

If you've ever wanted to rip someone's spine out on the bus, Mortal Kombat Advance has you covered. It's wild how well they crammed Scorpion's spear move and Sub-Zero's ice blast into this tiny GBA cartridge—the controls somehow feel just right, even with those stubby little buttons.
Yeah, the blood's more like pink pixels and the fatalities are way tamer than the arcade version, but nailing a 10-hit combo still gives you that same stupid grin. I spent way too many lunch breaks in high school trying to unlock secret characters (that one hidden fight against Reptile took me forever).
It's not the prettiest MK game, but there's something charming about how hard it tries to be brutal on a screen the size of a Post-it note. Just don't expect Liu Kang's bicycle kick to look half as cool as it does on PlayStation.
