Play Mortal Kombat : Tournament Edition Online
Dodge vomit attacks from Bo Rai Cho, then cram four friends around a GBA for a blurry but hilarious tournament mode—somehow the tiny screen chaos works.

Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Midway Games. It was one of those portable fighters that tried to squeeze the arcade experience into your hands during a time when the GBA was full of ambitious, if sometimes compromised, adaptations. You got a solid roster and the core mechanics, even if the hardware meant some visual and audio trade-offs.
You pick a fighter from the Mortal Kombat universe and battle through a series of one-on-one matches, either in the classic arcade ladder or the new team-based tournament mode. The fighting retains the series' familiar combo system and special moves, but the standout feature is the ability to build and manage a team of fighters, switching between them between rounds. Matches are fast and often difficult, demanding quick reflexes and memorization of move sets. It feels satisfying to land a well-timed fatality or outmaneuver an opponent with a character switch, even on the small screen.
