Mortal Kombat on the Amiga is pure 90s arcade nostalgia—the kind of game where you could practically hear the quarter slots clinking just by looking at it. You pick from seven fighters, each with their own ridiculous backstory (Johnny Cage, the movie star? Classic). The digitized actors make every punch and kick look weirdly real, and yeah, there’s blood. A lot of it.

Matches are one-on-one, and the controls are simple at first—just mash buttons to throw punches and kicks—but then you start figuring out the special moves. Scorpion’s spear, Sub-Zero’s ice blast… it’s all here. And if you win two rounds, you get to finish your opponent with a Fatality. These are gloriously over-the-top, like ripping someone’s spine out or setting them on fire. It’s dumb, violent fun, exactly like the arcade original.

Just don’t expect the Amiga version to be as smooth—the hardware struggles a bit with the animations. But if you grew up with this game, that barely matters. The tournament awaits.
