Play Mortville Manor Online
You poke around a surreal mansion where every object might be a clue—or a trap—while bizarre characters drop cryptic hints with a straight face. Good luck figuring out why licking that painting solves the puzzle.

Mortville Manor came out in 1987 for MS-DOS, developed by Lankhor. It was a point and click adventure from that era when games relied more on imagination and player patience than flashy graphics. You explore a strange, almost dreamlike estate, interacting with everything you see in hopes of piecing together a larger, weirder story.
You control a detective investigating the disappearance of a man named Robert, moving screen by screen through the manor and its grounds. The main goal is to solve puzzles by using items from your inventory on the environment or talking to the odd cast of characters who live there. The game is known for its non-linear exploration and its sometimes illogical puzzle solutions, which can make progress feel slow and deliberately obscure. Figuring it out requires a lot of trial and error, and it feels like untangling a very peculiar knot someone else tied.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
