Play NBA Live 96 on Snes Online
Control your team in NBA Live 96, play defense, call plays, score points, and compete in matches or a full season on SNES.
NBA Live 96 came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, published by EA Sports. It was one of the better basketball games on the platform at the time, sitting alongside other sports titles that tried to capture the feel of the mid-90s NBA. The graphics and presentation were a step up from earlier efforts, with digitized player faces and more fluid animations, though it still had the limitations of 16-bit hardware.
You control a full team of five players, switching on defense and calling plays on offense to score more points than the opponent. The main objective is to win games, either in exhibition matches or through a full season mode. Signature mechanics include calling for picks, executing alley-oops, and using turbo for bursts of speed. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike against better teams, especially when the computer starts hitting contested shots. It feels responsive and competitive, even with the occasional awkward collision or animation quirk.
