Customizing players was surprisingly deep for the time, letting you tweak everything from their look to their play style.
The playbooks were ridiculous—60 offensive setups and 10 defensive ones—so you could spend half an hour just picking strategies before the game even started. Exhibition matches were quick and chaotic, but playing a full season? That’s where the game really hooked you. The playoffs especially had this tense, back-and-forth energy that made every possession matter. Just don’t expect modern graphics—this was peak 16-bit basketball.
