The graphics pop with that bright, cartoony GBC style, and the controls are simple enough that you can just pick it up and start dunking on fools within seconds. It’s missing some of the console version’s flair, sure, but for quick bus-ride games or reliving that late-'90s NBA nostalgia, it’s weirdly satisfying. Also, hearing the fake crowd roar through the tinny Game Boy speaker never gets old.
