Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City came out in 2006 for the PlayStation Portable, developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts. It was part of that wave of handheld racing games that tried to bring console style action on the go, with a focus on urban street racing and car culture that felt right at home on the PSP.

You play as a street racer trying to take control of a city divided into territories. Your main goal is to build a crew of wingmen, each with unique abilities like blocking rivals or scouting shortcuts, and use them in races to dominate each district. Signature mechanics include crew-based tactics during events, extensive car customization (both visual and performance), and territory control that unlocks new events and rivals. The pacing is aggressive; you're always either in a race, tweaking your car, or recruiting allies to strengthen your crew. It feels chaotic and personal, like you're really fighting for every inch of asphalt.
