Nibbles was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection released by Microsoft in 1991. It was a simple, text-mode game that ran on PCs of the era, fitting right in with other early '90s shareware and bundled software. You didn't need fancy graphics or sound to get hooked; it was all about quick reflexes and a little bit of strategy.
You control a snake made of symbols, guiding it around the screen to eat numbers that appear. Each number you eat makes your snake grow longer, and you must avoid crashing into the walls or into your own tail. Later levels introduce maze walls that complicate your path, forcing careful navigation. The game starts slow but quickly demands faster decisions, especially in two-player mode where you compete to outlast your opponent. It feels tense and satisfying when you slip through a tight gap just in time.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
