Play North and South on Msdos Online
You shuffle tiny armies across a pixelated US map, stealing trains and gambling on dice rolls—until suddenly it's 3 AM and you're muttering about North Carolina's troop bonuses.

North and South came out in 1989 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Infogrames. It was a strategy game with a sense of humor, set during the American Civil War, and it stood out among other titles of the era for blending different styles of play into one package.
You control either the Union or Confederate forces, moving regiments on a strategic map to capture territories, while also managing supply lines and railroad routes. The real charm comes from the action sequences; you directly command units in real-time battles to defend forts or attack trains, and you can even play a simple dice mini-game to gamble for extra resources. The pace is brisk, and the difficulty can spike during larger confrontations, but the variety keeps each playthrough engaging. It feels like a board game that decided to occasionally turn into an arcade title.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
