Game Overview

Oberon 69 is one of those MS-DOS games that makes you wonder what the developers were smoking—in the best way possible. You boot it up and immediately get hit with chunky pixel art, a synth soundtrack that sounds like a dying robot, and gameplay that swings between arcade chaos and "wait, how was I supposed to figure that out?" puzzles.

I remember my first playthrough—I spent 10 minutes just trying to decipher the controls before realizing half the fun is stumbling into bizarre scenarios. One minute you're dodging neon blobs, the next you're solving a riddle from a talking cabbage. It’s got that early '90s experimental vibe where anything goes, and the jankiness somehow adds to the charm.

Not gonna lie, some of the mechanics feel like they were coded at 3 AM, but that’s what makes it special. If you’re into weird retro games that feel like they escaped from a basement developer’s fever dream, this one’s a trip worth taking. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
