Game Overview

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee came out in 1997 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, published by GT Interactive Software Corp. It was one of those late 90s titles that stood out for its dark, industrial aesthetic and its focus on puzzle solving over action, fitting right in with the era's appetite for games with strong atmosphere and unconventional heroes.

You control Abe, a hapless factory worker trying to escape RuptureFarms and save his fellow Mudokons from being processed into meat products. The gameplay revolves around careful platforming, avoiding hazards, and using Abe's ability to possess enemies to turn guards against each other or disable security. You whisper commands to rescue Mudokons, solve environmental puzzles screen by screen, and stealthily navigate past traps and hostile creatures. The pacing is deliberate, often demanding patience and precise timing, with mistakes frequently leading to instant, gruesome deaths. It feels tense and methodical, where every successful escape or rescued ally brings a real sense of relief.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
