Game Overview

Olympic Summer Games on SNES is one of those couch multiplayer gems where you’ll end up yelling at your friends over who totally cheated in the 100m dash. The pixelated athletes have that classic 90s charm—blocky but full of personality—and the events range from button-mashing sprints to slightly more strategic stuff like archery (timing actually matters there).

It’s not exactly a simulation—more like a fast, exaggerated version of the Olympics where you’ll see swimmers practically flying out of the water. The two-player mode is where it shines, though. Nothing beats the chaos of both of you fumbling the long jump takeoff at the same time. Just don’t throw your controller when someone steals your gold in the final seconds.

If you’ve got nostalgia for bright colors and simple competition, this one holds up surprisingly well. Grab a friend and settle who’s the real champion already.
