Play Onimusha 2 Online
You play as Jubei, a demon-powered samurai carving through monsters with weighty sword swings—mistime an attack and some undead jerk will punish you. That Oni transformation still feels awesome when the screen flashes red and you go full nightmare mode.

Onimusha 2 on Game Boy Color was a late release for the system, arriving in 2000 from developer/publisher Capcom. It was a time when handhelds were still mostly about short bursts of action, and this game tried to squeeze a console-style adventure into that small, green-tinted screen. It felt ambitious for the hardware, even if it had to make some compromises.
You control a samurai, moving screen by screen through feudal Japanese settings infested with demons. Your main goal is to defeat the monsters and progress through the story, using a combination of sword combat and special abilities. The combat relies on timing your slashes; mistime an attack and an enemy will quickly counter. You also collect souls from fallen foes to power up your weapons or unleash special moves, including a temporary transformation that boosts your strength. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you rush. It feels tense and focused, like every encounter demands your full attention.
