Game Overview
Open Season on GBA is one of those licensed movie games that actually doesn’t suck. You play as Boog the bear (yeah, from the movie) running, jumping, and smacking stuff in a decent little platformer. The levels are surprisingly varied—one minute you’re wrecking a campsite, the next you’re dodging hunters in the woods. Controls are tight for a GBA title, though the camera angles can get a little weird sometimes.
It’s got that classic early 2000s Ubisoft vibe—bright colors, goofy animations, and just enough challenge to keep you from breezing through in one sitting. Not gonna lie, I expected worse from a movie tie-in. If you dig platformers and don’t mind some jank, it’s a solid way to kill an afternoon.
