Play Operation Wolf Online
In Operation Wolf, you control a commando, shooting enemy soldiers and vehicles while rescuing hostages through six intense stages on the Sega Master System.
I remember playing Operation Wolf on the Sega Master System back in 1988. It was a port of Taito's arcade game, and for its time on the SMS, it was a pretty straightforward light gun shooter, though I played it with a controller. It fit right in with the action-heavy library of the late 80s, offering a direct, no-frills kind of challenge.
You control a lone commando fighting through six stages of a jungle compound to rescue hostages. The screen scrolls automatically from left to right, and you aim a crosshair to shoot enemy soldiers, jeeps, and helicopters. Your ammo is limited, so you have to pick up fresh clips and health packs dropped by fallen enemies; you also get a few powerful rocket launchers for tougher vehicles. The pace is relentless, and the difficulty spikes sharply, especially when you're trying to protect the hostages from being executed. It feels frantic and demanding, a constant test of your aim and reflexes under pressure.
