Play Out Run Europa Online
Dodging traffic on the autobahn, barely making ferries—this one nails that European road trip chaos, even if the pixels are a little rough around the edges.

Out Run Europa came out in 1991 for the Sega Master System, developed and published by Sega. It was part of that late era for the console, a time when developers were still squeezing what they could from the hardware, often with ports or spin-offs of bigger arcade titles. This one took the Out Run name but delivered a different kind of road trip experience, built for the constraints and possibilities of the 8-bit home system.
You control a driver racing a high-performance car across a divided Europe, from the UK to the USSR, with the main goal being to simply outrun a persistent police force that chases you the entire way. The gameplay shifts between an overhead map view for navigation and choosing your route, and the main side-scrolling action segments where you dodge oncoming traffic, leap over broken bridges, and occasionally outmaneuver roadblocks. The pacing is relentless; you're always moving, and the difficulty comes from the sheer density of obstacles and the pressure of the ticking clock. It feels like a constant, frantic scramble to stay one step ahead of total disaster.
