Pac-Man & Chomp Chomp came out in 1983 as an arcade game from Namco. It arrived during a time when maze chases were common, but this one tried something a little different by adding a second character into the mix.
You control Pac-Man and his smaller companion, Chomp Chomp, moving them together or separately through maze-like screens. The goal is to clear each stage by eating all the pellets while avoiding four colored ghosts. Key mechanics include splitting up to cover more ground or reuniting to protect Chomp Chomp; you also use Power Pellets to temporarily turn the tables and eat the ghosts. The pacing is quick, and the mazes grow more complex with tighter corridors and trickier ghost patterns. It feels like a tense, cooperative dance where every move counts.
