I first played Paku Paku as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection from 2011, released by Paladin Systems North. It's a straightforward port of the arcade classic Pac-Man, bringing that familiar maze-chase experience to the DOS platform. It fits right in with the simple, focused games of that era, where clear objectives and quick sessions were the norm.
You control a circular character through a series of single-screen mazes, eating dots while avoiding four colored ghosts. The main goal is to clear each stage by consuming every pellet; grabbing a power-up lets you temporarily hunt the ghosts instead. The game moves at a steady pace, with difficulty rising as the ghosts get smarter and faster. It feels tense and rewarding, especially when you narrowly dodge a trap or clear a board with smart pathing.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
