Paranoia! came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Phoenix Arts. It was a product of its time, a straightforward action game that didn't try to reinvent the wheel but offered a solid challenge for players used to the DOS environment.
You control a lone soldier navigating through a series of maze-like, screen-by-screen levels, fighting off enemies with a limited arsenal. The main goal is to survive each stage, find keys to unlock doors, and eventually escape. Signature mechanics include careful resource management of health and ammo, along with real-time combat that demands quick reflexes. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be punishing, with enemies that respawn and limited chances to recover. It feels tense and methodical, where every shot and every step counts.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
