Peace Keepers is one of those SNES beat 'em ups that flew under the radar, which is a shame because it's way more interesting than it looks at first glance. You pick from six fighters (I always went with the boxer—his super move just feels brutal) and plow through waves of thugs in that classic three-quarter view. What surprised me was how much the branching paths actually matter—take one route, and you'll face completely different bosses than your friend did. Mess around with taunts mid-combo to pull off flashy super moves, though good luck pulling that off when four guys are rushing you at once.
It's got that satisfying weight to the punches, and the versus mode gets chaotic fast if you've got friends over. Just don't expect the story to make much sense—this was part of a Japanese series that got rebranded for the West, so the whole "Peace Keepers" thing feels kinda slapped on. Still, it holds up better than most '90s brawlers.
