Game Overview

Peepar Time is one of those weird little NES games you'd only find if you were digging through Japan's back catalog. It's a collection of mini-games—some make sense, others feel like inside jokes lost to time. One second you're popping balloons with a needle, the next you're... well, I still don't know what the dancing sumo wrestlers were about.

The graphics are simple even for an 8-bit game, but there's something charming about how unapologetically odd it is. My favorite was the "catch the falling objects" game, mostly because it's the only one where I could figure out the scoring system. Play it with a friend if you can—half the fun is watching each other fail at the weirder challenges.

It won't replace your favorite NES classics, but it's a great 15-minute distraction when you want something completely different. The music alone will stick in your head for days.
