Penguin Land came out for the Sega Master System in 1987, developed and published by Sega. It was one of those puzzle platformers that felt right at home on the system, offering a different kind of challenge compared to the more action-heavy titles of the time.

You control a penguin whose main job is to guide an egg safely to the bottom of each stage. You dig through dirt blocks to create paths, but you have to be careful; if the egg falls too far or hits an obstacle, it cracks. Later levels introduce ice blocks that make the egg slide uncontrollably, adding a real planning element to your digging. The game requires patience and foresight, with a difficulty that steadily ramps up. It feels satisfying to finally maneuver that egg all the way down without a single mistake.
