Play Perestroika Online
Stack blocks like it's Tetris, then watch some Soviet official change the rules mid-game—now triangles are banned and your tower’s suddenly "ideologically incorrect." The more you play, the more it feels like the game’s trolling you with bureaucratic nonsense.

Perestroika came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Locis. It was a product of its time, a puzzle game that felt right at home among the many experimental titles on the platform, offering a unique twist on the block-stacking genre without trying to be the next big thing.
You control a cursor to place falling blocks, aiming to build a stable structure to a target height. The main objective is straightforward, but the challenge comes from the game's signature mechanics: the rules change without warning, declared by an on-screen official who might suddenly ban certain shapes or alter physics, and your construction is judged not just on stability but on its compliance with these shifting, arbitrary decrees. The pacing is methodical, interrupted by moments of pure frustration as your progress is invalidated. It feels like arguing with a stubborn, unpredictable system that holds all the power.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
