Perman Part 2 - Himitsu Kessha Madoodan wo Taose! came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, developed by Irem. It was part of that wave of late NES games based on anime properties, a side-scrolling action title that didn't get much attention outside Japan. You play as Perman, one of the super-powered heroes from the manga and anime, tasked with taking down the secret society Madoodan.

You control Perman through a series of platforming stages, running and jumping to avoid enemies and obstacles. Your main weapon is a bubble gun, which you use to trap enemies before you can defeat them. The game is structured level by level, with a boss waiting at the end of each one. It moves at a brisk pace, but the challenge can be unforgiving with precise jumps and enemy patterns to learn. Playing it feels like a cheerful, slightly frantic scramble through a Saturday morning cartoon.
