Persona 3 Portable takes everything great about the original—the moody atmosphere, the social links, the turn-based combat with Personas—and squeezes it into the PSP. At first, I wasn’t sure how the dungeon crawling would feel on a handheld, but it actually works surprisingly well for quick sessions. And the new female protagonist route? It’s not just a reskin—her story adds fresh dialogue options and different social links that change how you experience the game.

You’ll still spend your days balancing school life, building relationships, and diving into Tartarus at night. The combat’s as snappy as ever, though the AI-controlled party members might still frustrate you sometimes (R.I.P. Marin Karin memes). If you missed this one back in the day, it’s a solid way to play one of the darker Persona titles. Just don’t expect the fancy cutscenes from later games.
