Super Robot Taisen MX Portable is one of those games where you get to mash up all your favorite giant robots into one ridiculous tactical battleground. Gundams, Evangelions, and a bunch of other mechs I barely recognized—it’s like a crossover episode gone wild. The grid-based fights are surprisingly deep, and watching your robots pull off these over-the-top attacks never gets old (especially with the smoother animations and faster load times on PSP).

At first, the sheer number of units and upgrades feels overwhelming, but after a couple of missions, you start figuring out which robots work best for your playstyle.
