Game Overview

Pharaoh's Curse on the Amiga is one of those games that looks simple at first—you're just a little explorer dodging snakes and grabbing treasure—but then the traps start getting ridiculous. One wrong step and suddenly you're crushed by a rolling boulder or impaled on spikes. The controls are tight, though, and once you get the rhythm of the jumps, it feels satisfying to outmaneuver the ancient death traps.

What really sticks with me is the eerie soundtrack. It's got this low, pulsing synth that makes every room feel like you're being watched. And you probably are—by some cursed statue about to shoot lasers at you. The pixel art holds up too, especially the way the torches flicker in the background. Just don't get too distracted admiring them, or you'll miss the floor collapsing under you.

It's the kind of game where you'll die a lot at first, but each run teaches you something new—like which treasures are actually worth the risk. The sarcophagi are usually a bad idea, by the way.
