Game Overview
Picross NP Vol. 1 is one of those weird little SNES gems you could only get through Nintendo Power in Japan—basically a blank cartridge they’d mail you with new games loaded onto it. This one’s all Pokémon-themed, with Pikachu and friends hiding in those satisfying grid puzzles you fill in like a cross between Sudoku and Minesweeper.
It’s the first of eight volumes, each tied to a different Nintendo series, but honestly, the Pokémon twist makes it extra charming. The sprites are tiny and pixel-perfect when you finally reveal them, and there’s something weirdly addictive about chipping away at a puzzle until a Jigglypuff emerges. Just don’t expect any Poké Balls or battles—this is pure, old-school Picross with a nostalgic coat of paint.
