Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End came out on the Nintendo DS in 2007, published by Disney Interactive Studios. You control Jack Sparrow through a mix of screen-by-screen exploration, sword combat using stylus swipes, and ship battles where you aim cannons with the touch screen. The main goal is to gather crew members and lift curses, which involves backtracking through locations, solving environmental puzzles, and fighting plenty of guards. The pacing is uneven sometimes, with stealth sections that can feel a bit clunky, but upgrading your ship and weapons gives a decent sense of progress. It feels like a rough but earnest attempt to pack a pirate adventure into something you could play on the bus.
