Game Overview

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End came to the PlayStation Portable in 2007, developed by Eurocom and published by Disney Interactive Studios. It was a time when handheld adaptations of big films were common, and this one tried to capture the movie's swashbuckling spirit on the small screen. The PSP hardware allowed for decent 3D environments, though it clearly pushed the limits of what the system could handle visually.

You control Jack Sparrow through a mix of exploration, combat, and light puzzle solving. The main goal is to advance the story by completing missions across various locations, from port towns to enemy ships. Signature mechanics include screen by screen platforming, sword combat with combos and counters, and occasional cannon battles during naval sequences. The pacing is uneven at times, with some frustrating camera angles, but the swordplay feels responsive once you get the timing down. It feels like a straightforward action adventure that makes decent use of the license without overcomplicating things.
